5G, 5th generation wireless systems, was still an unfamiliar topic just a year ago. It was an abstract topic and concept to the majority of people. However, research shows that the launch of massive mobile communication products has brought this abstraction into reality: 5G is no longer a conceptual thing but a real-life technology.

When does 5G technology first come to reality? According to research, ZTE company launched Axon 10 Pro, symbolizing the popularization of the technology as “the first 5G smartphone has been sold in Nordic Countries.[1]” …

At its heart, product design is the design of something to ensure it meets human needs.[1] While most universities and institutions offer product design courses that solely focus on physical products, digital product design is in fact an intangible software-enabled experience or service. Depending on the company’s size, the digital product can be either the entire business offering or just one touchpoint of a cooperate service.

Though the majority confuse digital design with graphic design, it is actually far more in common with industrial design than it does with graphic design. To account for this, websites, applications, and other digital…

You are never your own user.

As a well-developed design approach used in user research, user interviews are penetrated into any stage of the design process to help designers better understand their target users and determine market demands. This is to ensure that the final product benefits target users. …

Background: Cultural Probe was a design probe principle introduced by Gaver, Dunne, and Pacenti in a 1999 paper. They designed a research method that benefits both participants and researchers. Through a number of components, including postcards, diaries, and maps they intended to obtain more qualitative and personal user information. As described in the paper, “inspirational data” from the probes would help for an “impressionistic account” of users.

In the 21st Century, the power of technology, especially the launch of 5G, brings more possibilities to designing probes. Sub-principles like mobile probes, technology probes, and informational probes came to attention.

Rationale: The…
